This position is responsible for the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of all Employment Services operations in Los Angeles County. The Employment Services Program Coordinator manages the program in support of the policies, goals, and objectives established by PathPoint.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Determines work procedures, work schedules, and expedites workflow, including coverage during staff absences. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Remains informed and oversees the day-to-day operations of Employment service programs: Individual Supported Employment (ISE), Group Supported Employment (GSE), Project Search. Assures high quality and consistency of program support services, applicable policies and procedures in accordance with the program design.
Works on securing contracts by meeting with prospective employers, evaluating the work site, determining feasibility, and performing task analyses.
Responsible for maintenance of time studies, including adherence to timelines and legal requirements. Ensures that all Department of Labor and Cal-OSHA regulations are being observed on behalf of the Participant.
Regularly visits job sites. Determines procedures, standards, and checklists for each job site.
Schedules individualized job training/coaching as needed to help participants perform their job duties as required by the employer.
Oversees direct support professionals and acts as a resource to staff with regard to handling Participant concerns. Meets with individual Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to discuss and develop creative and proactive individual supports. Substitutes when necessary to cover staff absences.
Facilitates monthly program staff meetings. Manages accountability for action items developed during meetings.
Organizes delivers in-service training to staff. Participates in divisional in-service trainings, CORE Team Meetings, Employment Services Team, Supervision, Safety, quality improvement reviews and CARF reviews. Participates in quarterly records reviews.
Documents hours of participant service and prepares monthly billing.
Ensures staff have completed and have current required training and documentation.
Monitors contract compliance to ensure that statements of work are followed and the quality of work meets employer standards.
Acts as liaison between employers and participants and serves as advocate for participants when needed.
Serves as liaison with representatives from funding agencies, families, service providers and government agencies such as Social Security.
Safety Security:
Reads, learns and knows the PathPoint Safety Handbook (formerly known as the IIPP).
Promotes a safe and healthy work environment for self, participants, other employees and community.
Ensures that safety protocols are established and followed at each work site.
Is responsible for intervention in crisis or emergency situations. Ensures the program is prepared for emergencies disasters. Documents emergency preparedness and drills and monitors Participant progress. Participates in monthly Safety Meetings.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Works within approved budget; exercises appropriate cost control; is accountable for use of agency resources; balances mission with economic viability of the program and organization; understands how to make maximum use of allocated funds, enrollments, and other program resources.
PLANNING/ORGANIZING -- Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; develops realistic action plans and takes responsibility for implementing them.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Supported Employment Programs. Directly supervises non-supervisory Direct Support Professionals. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (BA) in Psychology, Education or related field, MA/MS preferred. Two years experience working with persons with developmental disabilities/mental illness required. Prefer previous supervisory skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to successfully complete First Aid/CPR training. CORE Behavioral and Supervisor training, Prevention of Sexual Harassment training. Must have a valid California Driver's License, clean DMV and criminal record clearance through the DOJ.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Pay Range or Minimum $16.00 - $18.02 per hour
