A high-energy, fast-paced company is looking for a Media Adaptation Production Artist contractor. We are looking for a person who is a team player and can handle multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt, solve problems, work independently, work with staff, communicate clearly both written and verbally, is detail oriented, has exceptional time management and can work under pressure. The company offers comprehensive services for major content providers like film studios, television networks and corporate clients who publish and market media for global distribution.
This position will report to the Production Manager/Resource Manager and support all areas of responsibility for the preparation of digital artwork using the Adobe Creative Suite and other industry standard software tools. Most projects will be geared toward regionalization of artwork using automated production workflows: the ZOO Media Adaptation Tool (MAT) and Translation Management System (TMS). Artwork may be used for print media, online applications and other new media.
The Media Adaptation Production Artist's tasks will consist mostly of regionalizing elements, but may require some design or re-purposing of existing artwork. This includes but is not limited to analyzing the delivered assets to make sure they are compliant with the correct specifications, identifying and modifying any components that are out of spec using design tools such as Photoshop and After Effects, using MAT and/or TMS to automate the translation and the appropriate formatting for other regions, and outputting finished assets. The Media Adaptation Production Artist is responsible for fixing, modifying and/or changing the assets as requested by the Quality Control department or by the client. This position will understand all aspects of our production abilities and work with Quality Control, Design, administrators, Project Managers and The Media Adaptation Team to effectively implement new capabilities and refine existing capabilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Executes production art for assigned projects with accuracy and efficiency.
Preflights supplied digital artwork.
Utilizes and masters MAT and TMS for automated regionalization of print media, online applications and other new media
Prepares images and mechanicals for specified workflows and various output requirements
Produces digital and/or hard copy proofs for internal QC and client approval.
Attends weekly department meetings to report status updates and any significant factors that can affect our ability to produce the highest quality work within expected deadlines
Reports to the Production Manager and/or Technical Manager for assigned tasks and project direction

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Two to four years related experience

Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite - Design Premium; Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator; Ability to learn and use new skills in related software and computer systems; Ability to learn desktop applications such as MAT and TMS.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Production artist needs to have necessary equipment to do the work.
Ability to work with multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment; ability to build, monitor and evaluate premedia projects; Ability to identify and resolve problems with client supported files.
Full understanding of output requirements for various media types; Familiarity with color management and image format conversions.
