As EVP of Programming will report to and work with the President of the Network, to develop programming for Network properties.
Essential Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily with all relevant Departments to effectively implement and maintain a cohesive programming strategy (including News, Promotions, Graphics); managing competing demands to resolve programming conflicts
Monitor research results and provide input for fielded research to inform programming decisions and strategy
Identify strengths and weaknesses in programming and make recommendations to top management to strengthen the Network's market position
Provides leadership and direction on all creative, logistical and editorial aspects of programming in support of ratings growth and profit goals
Key decision maker, in concert with top executive on all aspects of unscripted pilots
Ability to cope in a very dynamic and always changing and high pressured environment
Establish and maintains creative credibility with showrunners, agents, writers, producers, directors
Analyzes new program pitches to determine viability of concept, production concerns/challenges, cost of production and creative direction of any new project
Influential decision maker to "green light" new pilots, in concert with top executive
Oversees all production related activities which includes ensuring all projects are being produced on schedule, on budget and creatively meets business goals.
Effectively collaborates across several departments including Production, Legal, Business Affairs, PR, Standards and Practices, and Finance to ensure all projects meet creative expectations.
Works closely with ad sales on all programming initiatives, such as sponsorships and product integration opportunities.
Executes to maximize ad revenue while maintaining positive viewership
Formulate and evolve internal strategy, and communicate it properly both internally and externally
Must partner with Sales, PR and Marketing on integration, upfronts, shoots, etc for marketing and promoting all series
This position is critical in helping shape the direction of the network
Leads the team for overall effectiveness through employee development and growth opportunity and provides cross functional and cross division learning opportunities where possible
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 12+ years of experience in the television industry including 10+ years' experience at the executive level in the television industry.
Spanish and English fluent; both verbal and written
Knowledge of Mexican and Hispanic culture
Programming/grid management, Exposure to U.S broadcasting is a must
Sound editorial and creative judgment
Strong project management skills with ability to multi-task in a fast paced and changing environment
Strong communications skills and relationships with all levels of the organization; ability to develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with third party vendors and co-production partners
Track record negotiating programming deals in the best interest of the company
