Valencia, CA based Sonic Electronix, Inc. (www.sonicelectronix.com) is seeking a hands-on, tactical-strategic Director/VP of Finance to add to its team. This is a new role and will be an integral part of the company's continued explosive growth.
Sonic Electronix was founded in 2000 by Nate Victor. Since its launch, it has consistently experienced annual growth of 20-35% and has been profitable every year of business. Additionally, we have successfully grown to 135 employees and two locations (Valencia, CA and Louisville, KY).
The Director/VP of Finance is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of company financial planning and budget management functions and ensuring company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles. This position reports to the President/CEO.
Primary Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate financial planning and budget management functions
Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
Oversee the daily operations of the finance/accounting department
Manage the preparation of all financial reports
Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and forecasts
Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
Work with department heads to develop business plans
Improve profit as dictated by annual business plans
Manage the implementation of the company ERP
Take initiative with ideas and actively help lead the company regarding strategic and tactical management issues, brining financial and general management expertise to the company's leadership
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, math or related field from a regionally accredited college or university
12+ years finance or accounting experience with 5+ years at the mid to senior level (Controller, Director, VP, etc.)
3+ years finance experience in an e-commerce environment; retail/e-tail, distribution, or related industries preferred
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Knowledge of federal and state regulations
Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
Experience planning and implementing ERP software (NetSuite is a plus)
Ability to simultaneously manage several projects
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Strong conceptual and business analytical skills
Ability to identify problems, prioritize what needs to be done, and stay focused on the priority items to meet the company's financial goals
Hands-on pragmatic approach to business and profitability
Preferred Requirements
Master's degree in business, finance, accounting, math or related field from a regionally accredited college or university
