Small but rapidly growing real estate investment company is seeking a highly qualified Commercial Property Accountant and Real Estate Analyst. Crimson is a privately-held, full-service multifamily real estate investment and development company. We develop, build, lease and manage our own multifamily properties throughout California. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the investment/development business by working directly with the CEO. Our company has recently acquired new properties and is actively acquiring more.
In this role you will be responsible for maintaining all accounting books and managing the day-to-day accounting functions of the company. We are looking for someone who can implement process improvements and to assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings. In addition to managing all property-related accounting, you will be performing analysis related to property performance and real estate acquisitions. You will also be responsible for partnership allocations, distributions, compliance review, performance calculations, ad hoc internal reporting, and financial statement preparation. You will communicating directly with investors, clients, and property managers.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
-All bookkeeping duties including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Journal Entries, PL reports, month and year end closing
-Account reconciliation
-Tenant accounts, balances and increases
- Rent rolls, property budgets and forward-looking cash flow projections
-Acquisition analysis and issue-oriented research projects
-Prepare monthly financials and investor reports
Skills
-Candidate will have minimum of 3 years' experience in real estate accounting, handling all aspects of rent receipts and billings for real estate projects, preferably in partnership or real estate private equity accounting. Prior financial statement preparation experience required.
-Must be proficient with Quickbooks and other Property Management Software packages.
-Bachelors degree required with a major in Business, Accounting or equivalent experience.
-CPA a plus.
-Must be agile at multitasking and have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under little supervision.
-Poised under pressure and flexible to adapt to last-minute changes in schedule; including being able to work overtime and remain on-call as needed.
-Must be exceptionally organized and structured and be VERY detail oriented
-Must have excellent follow-through skills. You must be self motivated with the ability to take the ball and run with it
