Entry Level Gallery Position -- Assistant to Gallery Director:
Fine Art Photography gallery seeks full-time entry level gallery assistant who is willing to learn all aspects of the gallery business.
Requirements:
PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) proficient
Min. 50 wpm
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop (Scanning, Stitching, and Resizing of images)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong administrative background and organizational skills
Ability to take direction from and work alongside the gallery director day to day
Ability to multitask and prioritize several projects and tasks at once, and handle a heavy work load
Responsibilities:
Working daily with the gallery director to draft emails and correspond with artists and clients
Assisting in general gallery administrative tasks: answering phones, greeting clients, drafting correspondence, creating invoices, filing, running errands, ordering of general office supplies, and maintenance of office equipment
Assisting gallery sales staff with client presentations
Assisting in exhibition preparation and installation
Assisting gallery registrar with cataloguing inventory, coordinating consignments, and shipping arrangements
