FREELANCE DESIGNER

PureGear is a fast-growing mobile phone accessories brand located in Irwindale, CA and is seeking a freelance designer with the potential for full-time employment to work at our super friendly yet fast-paced modern office environment. (www.pure-gear.com)
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of design and production art experience, supported by strong design concept and proofreading skills. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to work across a range of projects, from identity design to print collateral to packaging and web. A background in consumer products is preferred.

Responsibilities:
Visual design abilities and sensibility: Candidates for this position know the difference between good and great work. They should identify and evangelize best practices, and explore new territories to deliver innovation through new ideas and influences, and be quick to react to changing trends.
Applicants should feel comfortable throughout all phases of a project, from translating verbal ideas into visual concepts through design development, refinements and production-ready artwork.
Team skills: Candidates must believe that better work is accomplished through collaboration and be able to effectively share their point of view and expertise. They should possess the ability to inspire team through collaboration as well as direction, vision and planning. They should be highly organized with an ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines and the willingness to work additional and/or flexible hours. In addition to teamwork, the candidate should possess the ability to work independently and be self-disciplined.
Detail-oriented: Candidates must have strong verbal, written and proofreading skills, in addition to having an eye for small details. Additionally, successful applicant understands the value of a brand and can maintain the brand identity across all B2C and B2B touchpoints.
Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat
Microsoft Suite: Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook
Photography and retouching skills a plus

Requirements:
Candidate must have a BA in graphic design with a minimum of 3 years design and production art experience or AA degree in Graphic Design and minimum 5 years of design and production experience. Design samples and portfolio required.
