PROJECT ESTIMATOR/PROJECT ENGINEER

A design-build firm in West LA specializing in high-end modern residential architectural buildings has immediate openings for highly motivated PROJECT ESTIMATOR/ PROJECT ENGINEER

Essential Responsibilities

.• Prepares construction budget by studying construction documents; updating specifications; identifying and projecting cost estimates (preferably Timberline Estimating software).
• Review project document and specifications, identify bid items and prepare quantity take-off for estimate from plans.
• Bid Administration - prepares and maintains status of plan reproduction, prepares subcontractor bid packages, and transmits addenda and other bid information to PROJECT TEAM.
• Project Knowledge - has a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned, develops Scope of work, RFI's and clarifications, ensures adequate subcontractor coverage, and performs a comprehensive "bid day" analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades.
• Quantification - comprehends building design and interprets plan specifications from conceptual design, performs a thorough and accurate quantification of building systems and components, communicates effectively.
• Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information
• Attend on-site project meetings regularly to verify progress and to assess the impact of any problems found. Advice the Office about any deviations from the specifications agreed between the Client and ARYA and Design/Architect.
• Provide weekly project update. These reports will contain sketches information of any changes/cost impact.
• Coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.
• Ensures that all construction plans and documents at the site at the office are updated at all times. Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with on-site policy and procedures, including tracking and creating change orders and documenting related information.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• College degree or equivalent
• Minimum of ten years experience in construction
• Expert with Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel and Project) and other estimating software
