Apparel Designer Needed For Mass-Market Young Contemporary Brand (Culver City)

Established mass-market young contemporary apparel brand is seeking a plus size designer to join their team!

Job requirements:

*Collaborate with Design Director/teams to facilitate all aspects from concept to design and final development for each department seasonally.
*Prepare style line sheets to review with design director for each season at beginning, middle and end of each season to ensure accurate number of skews is being met for presentation(s).
*Hand sketch flats clearly for technical design interpretation.
*Execute design inspiration boards for each season.
*Needs to have a great eye for color.
*Be proactive shopping the market for trend and development purposes constantly.
*Take direction for preliminary design research and development for all accounts/customers.
*Prepare design inspiration packages for over seas offices; clearly communicate all aspects of design expectations with overseas offices and technical designer.
*Knowledge of raw materials (knits and woven's) and trims related to each design classification.
*Manage development and source new fabric qualities, yarn dyes, prints and trims within budget guidelines.
*Attend all production fittings.
*Responsible for all aspects of daily follow up between internal and external team members/vendors and communicate changes or issues within a timely manner.
*Be attentive, take notes, and update all records (i.e. hard copies and computer files) regarding any style changes for BOM's, prints, fabrics etc.
*Review lab dips and gives comments to production teams with design director.

Desired Skills Experience:
*Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design preferred.
*3-5 years experience in constructed bottoms and denim
*Excellent communicate skills and extremely detail oriented.
*Ability to analyze workload and prioritize work daily.
*Must be able to handle multiple projects for multiple accounts and different seasons.
*Have excellent understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, color, fabrication, and trim.
*Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Photoshop and illustrator
*Must have 4-5 years of experience in the juniors market with some plus size experience
