Department Manager/Operations (Woodland Hills )

The primary purpose of the role is to provide timely, accurate and efficient assignment of loss prevention activities to the Engineering Teams within the Operations to accomplish the workload in the most effective way, matching the skills to jobs, enabling efficient travel and improving customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:

Select work to be assigned so that the appropriate loss prevention consultant has been matched with the technical proficiency of consulting required by the job. At the same time, manage work schedules to ensure work is completed in the most cost efficient way possible with particular emphasis on travel time and costs while maintaining the lowest possible monthly backlog.
Coordinate all work assignment matters by acting as the primary contact to ensure work assignment activities are coordinated consistently, do not result in duplication or rework, and focus on customer satisfaction.
Work with loss prevention consultants and others to ensure that all inspection commitments are met.
Balancing the needs of the various internal customers to meet various and often short deadlines for work.
Ensure the continuous efficient running of the work assignment department for the office by completing all responsibilities in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Supervise the work of the Work Assignment Engineering Assistant to enable a smooth workload balance within the function.
Complete additional duties, as assigned, which support the work assignment function.

This role requires someone with strong interpersonal skills who is able to communicate clearly with various levels of the engineering teams within our own operations and the Operations across the world requesting engineering services within Los Angeles Operations. The role requires someone with a proven ability to plan, organize and manage their time efficiently to meet tight deadlines. Confident and articulate, the successful applicant will be able to balance the needs of the team whilst maintaining a business focus
