NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, is an Internet Retailer 500 ranked humanitarian web site currently looking for a talented Web/Graphic Designer for our headquarters office in Santa Monica with some potential travel to our offices in Latin America or Asia.
Please do not apply if you cannot travel for 2 week periods out of the country.
This is a 1 year contract position that involves:
- Building systems to enhance the sales of our international network of artists and artisans
- Being part of a mission-driven team in a fast growth e-commerce company
- Creating and maintaining website layouts
- Building new and exciting design templates
- Improving visual merchandise reports for artisans in international countries
- Creating wire frames and test UI and UX designs
- Interviewing artisans through our regional offices in Asia, Africa and Latin America (potentially in person) to understand technology needs
To apply for this position, the following experience is required:
- Bachelors degree from a 4 year college or university
- 3+​ years of experience with e-commerce web site design
- Full proficiency in Photoshop
- Very important: coding experience in AJAX, JQuery, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Working knowledge of template integration for dynamic web sites
