We are looking for an eager and ambitious Junior Graphic Designer to work in our Calabasas, CA office - we're in the heart of Calabasas, close to The Commons. This is a temporary position which has the potential to turn into a full-time, regular position. The ideal candidate will assist in all aspects of a job from concept to execution, to preparing files to delivery for development. Must have an exceptional eye for design paired with the willingness to jump into a project at any point and do what it takes to get the job done. You must have a passion for the work you do and are ambitious about helping our company succeed. We are looking for someone who can work hands-on with the current design team, take a project over, and multi-task on several projects to see them to completion.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role encompasses all aspects of graphic design, from project concept to completion. The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for the following types of design projects:
Packaging: Developing software packaging for alternative channel products; creating derivative product packaging from existing artwork and from scratch.
Product Components: Design of software disc, registration cards, jewel-cases and other packaging inserts.
Logos: Design of partner logos and website logos.
Direct Mail: Design that motivates readers to respond through creative and persuasive design.

The Junior Graphic Designer supports a wide variety of internal clients and must be well-organized and able to juggle and prioritize projects. Attention to detail is essential. Key requirements:
Excellent layout, design and production skills a must.
Highly computer literate in Macintosh environments -- with in-depth experience with essential graphic design applications. Adobe Photoshop, InDesign Illustrator.
Excellent command of the English language as it pertains to grammar and spelling. Strong ability to integrate words and images into creative templates.
Highly detail-oriented.
Superior organizational skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to function productively and effectively in a fast-paced environment with high degree of flexibility.
Ability to successfully handle multiple projects at one time.
Ability to react to directional changes quickly and positively, and able to receive and implement constructive feedback as well.
A proactive team-oriented work ethic, i.e.: volunteer to help others on projects as a need is uncovered.
A working knowledge of the print processes is helpful but not necessary
Bachelor's degree in related field is required.

Additional key requirements include a self-managed proactive work style and the ability to work independently in a team environment and meet stringent time deadlines. Portfolio must demonstrate superior aesthetic judgment and an understanding of current design trends including typography, layout and color as well as an excellent sense of style.

How to succeed in this role: you must have a good attitude and the willingness to stay the occasional extra hour or so during our busy period. We want someone who is eager to grow with us.
