ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform research and analysis of current and pending legislation, laws and regulations which are relevant to charter school management organizations, charter schools and non-profit organizations. Also, alerting appropriate persons within the Green Dot organization as to the existence of any compliance requirements.
Maintain current knowledge on details of CA public school funding.
Responsible for compliance with all relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations as pertains to the funding of K-12 public charter schools.
Responsible for compliance with contractual obligations and covenants specified by lenders or other funders.
Responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with the staff of relevant government agencies, lenders and funders.
Responsible for timely filing of reports as required by laws, regulations or contractual obligations.
Maintain current information in various databases used by the federal and state governments and file current business entity registrations as required by the California Secretary of State.
Provide financial statements and other reports for governmental agencies or lenders as required on a timely basis.
Assist the Green Dot Development team in preparing budgets for grant applications.
Prepare financial information for the Board of Directors and Audit Committee as required.
Complete applications for educational funds such as PENSEC reports and charter school revolving loans.
Assist in developing policies and procedures.
Providing training to existing and new personnel as needed.
Keep abreast of current trends, practices and developments in the public funding of K-12 schools general accounting profession, and the education industry.
Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Public Policy. Legal training or experience a plus.
Ability to interpret financial statements and variance reports required.
Strong analytical, communication, administrative and organizational skills required.
Proven ability to work in a collaborative, collegial environment required.
Experience working with public schools at the K-12 level preferred.
Experience interpreting federal, state and local regulations a plus.
Experience reporting to the offices of federal, state and local governmental or regulatory agencies a plus.
Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, specific expertise in ACCPAC a plus.

COMPENSATION:
