We are a growing consumer finance company located in Westwood (West Los Angeles). We are seeking a bright and enthusiastic individual to train as a Junior Underwriter. The successful candidate will be trained to review and evaluate consumer finance applications on a daily basis to assess the eligibility of a customer to receive financing. Position is full time; the regular schedule of 40 hours per week includes either Saturday or Sunday hours.
Job Duties
Review individual consumer finance applications
Analyze information and assess risk level and reasons for possible denial
Troubleshoot applications and track from initiation to approval
Work directly with merchant contact(s) to familiarize them with credit criteria guidelines
Manage multiple finance applications and multiple merchants
Manage multiple finance programs with different credit criteria for analysis
Meet or exceed daily application review goals
Essential Job Requirements
Desire and willingness to be trained to become an Underwriter
Excellent analytical skills particularly in finance
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Excellent work ethic and ability to establish and achieve goals
Highly organized and detailed
Results-oriented, independent, productive, self-starter, multi-tasker
Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office experience required
Working knowledge of CRM systems a plus
Ability to work weekend shift as part of regular schedule
Ability to sit for extended periods of time up to 8 hours
EXPERIENCE
1 year's previous experience in the auto finance industry highly desirable
Bachelors Degree preferred
