A world renowned consumer brand is looking for a strong model designer to join its team in the toy vehicle department. You will be responsible for creating complex 3D models from technical drawings and verbal specifications, taking into consideration mechanical elements and their accessories. You will work closely with engineers and product development, and develop solutions for mechanical issues.
You should have:
3+ years developing 3D models in Cad [Rhino or Solid Works]
Previous experience in building toy models, or set models or production design in the film industry is ideal
Strong mechanical knowledge of components like latches and gears
Excellent model making skills
Ability to take project direction and work from drawings and diagrams
A fantastic, current portfolio showcasing your previous work
This is an ongoing [6 months at least] freelance on site position in the Southbay/Westside area, with a rate in the $30-$35 hourly range. For consideration, please send your resume and portfolio [required].
