A/R Specialist Essential Functions:

Process invoices and (e)mail to external and internal company customers
Review/process payments
Review/Report collections with managers
A/R collections -- contact customers regarding past-due accounts
Prepare and update Receivables Aging Report for management
Maintain customer data and create billing entry in A/R module
Process customer credits and adjustment with proper authorization
Process credit checks for potential customers
Ensure the implementation of AR department policies and procedures
Bank and merchant account reconciliation

Job Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum of AA degree in Accounting, and 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable performing collections (preferably in the food industry); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journal Entry and Ledger knowledge is necessary. Knowledge of accounting terms and principles as they relate to AR is a must.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Since this position involves daily communication with management and outside customers, both verbally and in writing, excellent English language skills are required. Diplomacy is a must.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations, applying common sense carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Outstanding mathematical skills are also a must.
COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS: Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel programs is needed. Familiarity with other accounting programs is encouraged, as well as the ability to learn new programs quickly. Ability to use general office equipment is a must.
Knowledge in POS.
Be a highly energetic team-player with a positive attitude.
Strong organizational skill.
Attention to detail when completing multiple or repetitive tasks.
Flexible schedule and light travel required.
