Student Financial Services Counselor (Hollywood)

Responsibilities:

 Counsel all new students during monthly registration and review tuition obligation throughout all academic years, ensuring they understand the process and their responsibilities.

 Create installment agreements for GAP balances during registration and subsequent academic years, and package payment plans in CampusVue system.

 Counsel or redirect all financial aid and student financial services questions or concerns from students as necessary.

 Approve leave of absence and course drops after advising students of schedule change affects to financial aid. Enter all correspondence and communication into CampusVue system.

 Post monthly tuition billing, fees, and adjustments (auto and manual).

 Report monthly remaining balances to schedule on all active students assuring SFS due diligence for full cash and GAP balance students.

 Prepare monthly satisfactory academic progress reports on all active students, adjusting tuition and financial aid packaging accordingly. Notify financial aid funding department of required returns to lenders, and email students of warning and probation status notifications.

 Review weekly stipend register to confirm funding has been received, student is DOE compliant, and financial aid packaging balances to student ledger. Make adjustments when possible or notify appropriate financial aid administrator/officer stipend was rescheduled and why.

 Provide monthly laptop distribution clearance reports for Distribution Center. Prepare sales receipts for students who have prepaid for the laptop package and send email notifications to those students of upcoming laptop rollout dates and times.

 Schedule deposit refund stipends for graduates monthly. Update graduate roster with student account balance, advising administrators of funding issues to be resolved.

 Comply with federal regulations as outlined in Department of Education handbook. Training as necessary to stay current on all financial aid CampusVue issues. Attend Open House when scheduled and provide support as necessary.

 Miscellaneous task and reports as directed by senior managers.


Experience Required:

 Experience in Financial Aid industry helpful but not required.

Skills Required:

 Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, CampusVue desired.
 BA recommended but not required.
 Customer Service approach to dealing with students, parents and fellow staff.
 Professional demeanor and ability to interact with students and internal staff.

Measurement of Success:

 Bi-annual performance review.
 Weekly team meetings.
