Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Church (SOPC) is a friendly, growing, multi-generational Church with inspired Worship and Biblically-based, relevant teaching. We are seeking a musically-gifted individual with a team approach, a heart for people, a commitment to this Church Community and a desire to serve God and help others grow in faith through this ministry.
Essential Duties: Choosing music for choral and solo performances; selecting music with Worship Staff; rehearsing the Chancel Choir weekly; leading hymns and conducting choirs in the 10a traditional Sunday Service; hiring of and organizing music for supplemental musicians when necessary; meeting with the Pastor and Worship Committee; and enhancing the Worship of God through musical and personal interactions. Postion is approximately 10-15 hours per week, Possibilities also exist for the performance of major works.
Piano proficiency is a plus.
