Business Reporting Analyst
The International Culinary Center is seeking a Business Reporting Analyst for their Finance team. This position is responsible for the production and management of operations and financial reports for both the NY and CA campuses of the ICC. This position requires the ability to understand data relationships in order to design and test auto-reports in cooperation with programmers. This position also requires the ability to create manually produced reports in Excel by compiling downloaded data files from our CampusVue database with data from other systems.
The ability to understand, analyze, and improve business process and data capture across school departments including Marketing, Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Services, and Finance is vital to this role to allow for meaningful managerial reports that will support executive-level strategic decision making. Management of master data and consistency of data across two school databases is also necessary in order to efficiently produce reports and eliminate redundancies in data tracking.
Skills and Experience Required:
Advanced Excel User: Ability to create complex conditional formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data links across files, and graphs is a must.
Experience with production of Financial Reports: Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheet, Budgeting and Forecasting, Actual vs. Budget Comparison, and consolidation of multiple businesses/locations
Knowledge of General Ledger Accounting and Chart of Accounts structure
Experience with master data creation and management: working with naming conventions and codes, logical grouping of like data
Strong understanding of query logic and data relationships is necessary, familiarity with SQL is a plus
Experience with Systems Analysis basics: gathering requirements for reports, coordinate design, test and implementation with programmer when necessary
Willingness and ability to work across departments to ensure data accuracy is maintained and impacts to reporting are assessed along with changes to business process
Experience producing executive-level monthly and quarterly reports with a professional and consistent look
Analytical mindset and acute attention to detail is a must
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a business related field such as accounting, finance or economics. The individual must possess qualifications in computer database management, or programming skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers and subject matter experts.
