SCOPE:
Responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, taxes and other compliance, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting books records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets and analytical reports designed to mitigate risk, and enhance operating results.
ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS:
Ensure that accounts receivable are recorded properly and collected promptly
Maintain accounts payable accurately and in a timely manner
Process payroll in a timely manner - interface with payroll processing company
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain the chart of accounts and QuickBooks file
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain a system of controls for accounting transactions
Interface regularly with the outside accountant and provide support, including analyses and tasks required for the corporate income tax returns
REPORTING:
Prepare weekly and/or monthly analyses, financial commentary, key performance measurements and reports for COO and Executive Staff
Prepare annual budget which includes 12 month projections of expense and capital expenditures
Prepare quarterly forecasts to allow the company to more accurately project end of year expense
Collaborate and meet with Management to develop and review annual operating budget, capital budget and financial forecasts
Train the Office Administrator in accounting concepts and analyzing general ledger accounts, as well as budget and forecasting
Perform monthly variance analysis on the operating budget
COMPLIANCE:
Preparation and filing of sales taxes
Manage all insurance audits, including workers compensation, assure that coverage is adequate for the corporation, and that charges are appropriate
Monitor the filing and payment of payroll taxes
Maintain Quickbooks financial statements ready for preparation of income taxes
Monitor and maintain all necessary insurance coverage's
Monitor and maintain all necessary permits and licensing
Periodically review contracts for currency and compliance
KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS/ATTRIBUTES:
Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to pay attention to details and be organized
Advanced skill level in QuickBooks and Excel
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous assignments and complete them under time constraints
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person
Positive and willing to take initiative and follow through on projects and assignments
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting is required
