The Role:
The Financial Manager will supervise the results, planning and forecasting processes for Polarn O. Pyret USA.
We seek an experienced professional with deep knowledge in planning, managing and analyzing financial aspects of retail businesses. You will work closely with the national and regional retail executive teams to:
drive sales, margin, inventory, productivity and support the planning and analysis of strategic initiatives that are critical to growth.
lead ad hoc analysis of selected operational aspects of the business to support decision making by the retail leadership team and you'll assess opportunities to drive operational efficiencies.
lead financial analysis to produce investment decision support and budget requirements and track and forecast implemented initiatives.
work with the management team to produce robust budgets and forecasts for all sales and cost related areas. Being skilled in identifying risks and opportunity is critical to the business
responsible for the integrity of the financial statements and all governing compliance. You'll interpret and review final results with executive management, including trends, issues and opportunities to drive actionable responses.
provide leadership to our staff by actively participating in activities such as work planning, process development, resource optimization, and performance monitoring.
Task Requirements:
Develop master budget for all stores combined and individual units
Work with business units to update and maintain budgets
Create and maintain monthly, quarterly and yearly financial and reporting presentations for senior management
Develop cash flow and sensitivity analysis for businesses to evaluate scenarios for cash management optimization
Review financial statements and assist with monthly close process
Partner with all functional department heads
Track and report key business metrics analyzing the results and providing recommendations
Assist groups and departmental teams in identifying efficiencies and/or opportunities through analysis
Coordinate with departments so that Finance centrally maintains / tracks capital spend and ensures accuracy
Assist in the preparation of capital project business cases, including financial analysis/modeling in support of financial business decision
Prepare and present P L monthly and annual financial closing and reporting (Actual and Variance to budget reporting and analysis)
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
4+ years' experience in retail finance role
Excellent financial modeling capabilities with a high proficiency in Excel
Experience with financial reporting, budgeting and business analysis
Ability to develop professional relationships with non-financial executives at varying levels within the business
Ability to work independently
Strong presentation skills
Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft applications
Financial reporting system for PO.P - QuickBooks experience preferred
Comprehensive understanding of financial statements
Ability to retrieve and analyze information from various financial and operational systems
Analytical, critical thinking skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
Must be flexible, open to new direction and willing to receive feedback
Willing to collaborate with others and promote a positive work environment
