You will set up an office in your home (you will rarely be at the WCIRB office in Cerritos) and you will train one-on-one with the Team Leader and other Field Representatives for several weeks.
About 70% of your time will be spent visiting employers in the South Bay (Orange, San Diego Counties), conducting audits (you will learn how) and then about 30% of your time will be spent writing reports from a template detailing the operation and what the Workers' Compensation classification codes should be. (The insurance companies need for these codes to be correct.)
There is a lot of analysis in this job so you need to be smart - analytical. You must be able to work independently with very little supervision. You must speak, read and write English fluently. Reports the Associate Field Representative will write are published and accessible to insurance companies, California employers and the Department of Insurance (DOI). This job is not something you can do part time nor is it an easy job. You will have to produce a certain number of reports every week.
