Position Summary
The International Student Advisor is responsible for providing guidance and support to our international students throughout their time at KIC. The International Student Advisor will be held accountable for all non-academic elements of our students' experiences including , immigration counseling and tight coordination with the Customer Service team to ensure fast and accurate service to our students and agents.
Key Job Responsibilities
Advise new and current students on KIC courses and products; collect lead information and participate in conversion efforts
Deliver outstanding hands-on student service
Serve as Designated School Official (DSO); responsible for updating SEVIS and advising students on all matters related to their immigration status while studying at KIC
Assist in keeping the school compliant with state, national, and organizational standards
Assist with administration services
Assist with payment processing and database maintenance
Cash handling and reporting
Liaise with national operations team and Customer Service offices world-wide to ensure alignment with national standards
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
US Citizen or Landed Permanent Resident (mandatory for DSO)
2+ years in a business or operational setting
1+ year experience as DSO
A commitment to providing excellent service
Attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
Tact, patience and diplomacy, particularly with non-native English speaking
High energy level and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
Ability to deliver on detail-oriented processes
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with international students and/or advising and database systems strongly preferred
One or more foreign languages a plus
