The Director of Engineering is responsible for directing the maintenance functions and plant operations necessary in maintaining the physical structures, including HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems and utilities. He/she supervises all construction, renovation, installation, repairs and preventive maintenance. The Director maintains efficient and effective department operations, and compliance with all Joint Commission, State, Federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. In addition, this position manages and coordinates Environment of Care/Safety.

Requirements

• Associate degree required; Bachelor degree preferred
• 5 years of management experience in hospital engineering and plant operations
• Knowledge of all laws, regulations and standards governing hospital facility maintenance
• Experience in computer applications and budget preparation
