Stirling Dynamics is currently seeking experienced Stress Engineers and Senior Stress Engineers for our Kirkland, Washington office. Stirling is an internationally based aerospace engineering and consulting company that has five offices located within the United Kingdom and the United States.
Minimum Qualifications for Stress Engineer/Stress Analyst:
Bachelors degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
Minimum of 2+ years post-graduate or equivalent stress experience
Ability to perform stress hand calculations, FEM/FEA, fatigue and/or damage tolerance analysis
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to work diversely between independent roles with minimal direction and supervision, or as a team on large scale projects
United States citizenship or a current valid Green Card
Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
Capacity to handle heavy work loads and deadlines
Values attention to detail, accuracy and self discipline
Preferred Qualifications for Stress Engineer/Stress Analyst
Proficiency in Matlab, Nastran, Patran and or Femap
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Minimum Qualifications for Senior Stress Engineer:
Bachelors Degree and 5+ years experience in stress analysis
Ability to develop structural finite element models and/or perform stress, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
A proven background in one or more of the following is essential:
Metallic aircraft stress analysis
Linear and non-linear finite element analysis
Aero-structures experience
Composite stress analysis
Fatigue and damage tolerance
Proficiency in Matlab, Nastran, Patran and or Femap
United States citizenship or a current valid Green Card
Key Accountabilities for Senior Stress Engineer
To assure the given tasks achieve their full objectives
Maintaining the project/calculation file and write technical reports detailing the work performed
Interact with internal and external customers on a technical level
Hand Calculations
Stress Analysis
Finite Element Modeling using NASTRAN.
Senior roles will demand line management of staff and project approvals.
