Responsibilities:
The candidate for this position is expected to work with design, marketing and web operations teams to create promotional graphics, resize/scale email and marketing campaigns for web, and design and code promotional landing pages.
Design and update graphic promotions for all sites and all other sales channels, delivering any graphics revision and updates that would be needed to keep our stores up to date. This entails executing and producing as many graphics needed for each promotion, branding strategy or marketing campaign.
Mockup and execute new site designs, including all necessary XHTML, CSS, and jQuery.
Will work collaboratively under current designers branding concepts, mockups, strategies to execute all graphics needed.
Fluency with core graphic design principles: typography, form, color relationships, composition, imagery, etc. -- especially as it relates to retail design. The ability to take a wire-frame and bring it to life as well as the fore-site to see where a wire-frame potentially needs to be reworked -- it is only wire-frame after all.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of web design and graphic design experience in a e-commerce, corporate or agency setting including significant Web Design responsibilities.
- 2+ years experience in coding XHTML/CSS and table-less web design
- MUST have a strong portfolio that exemplifies a broad range of web experience and working on site design and coding.
- Photoshop + Adobe Creative Suite CS3+
- Experience Implementing your own designs -- we are a hands on environment.
- Big plus - (Javascript/JQuery and ability to work in and around back-end development languages)
- Experience with any large content management systems is also a big plus
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of design and typography (history, theory, practice)
- Ability to take design direction from concept through execution
- Willing to take direction and work collaboratively with lead designers
- Must be able to work within very tight deadlines in a fast-pace environment and still have fun!
- Must be able to multi-task and possess excellent time management skills
- Must be a team player and demonstrate excellent people skills
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to creatively problem solve
- Ability to work well with others, especially under deadline pressure
- Self-motivated, driven, able to articulate his/her vision
