Fast paced, dynamic, and growing small company that operates interactive self-service kiosks is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with experience in automation and robotics for a highly mechanical robotics project involving: Complex metal part, machined parts, tooled parts, small intricate moving parts, DC motors, gearboxes, cams, slides and rails, cutters, spring motion, arms, levers, wiring, controller boards, PCB boards, mechanical switches, optical switches, software, firmware, PC, UPS, and cell internet connectivity.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

Design of static and dynamic components and subassemblies
Testing prototype systems, then creating, implementing, and testing design modifications/improvements
Document and communicate changes to the team
Hands-on testing, trouble shooting, calibration, assembly, and disassembly of equipment
Develop technical solutions and work with a contract manufacturer to execute
Provide technical, engineering, or troubleshooting assistance to customers and field technicians
Integrate and test hardware, software, and firmware
Moderate travel will be required for vendor visits, field installation, field upgrades, and/or occasional machine troubleshooting repair

Requirements:

2-5 years robotics or automation experience.
2-5 years hands-on assembly and/or machining experience.
BS degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent education and experience
Proficient in ProE - (Other CAD possibly acceptable)
Hands-on problem solver and excellent critical thinker
Knowledge of or experience in manufacturing processes and components listed at the top of the page
Strong communication skills necessary, must be motivated and positive
Local resource preferred -- No relocation resources are available
