Established Textile Company is seeking a self motivated, enthusiastic Textile/Graphic Designer. Candidate should have a sophisticated eye for form, be keen observers to trends in the marketplace and have the ability to translate that information into product designs that are dynamic, fresh and relevant.
We are looking for a print and textile expert who understands repeats, color matching and creation of color ways and has a proven ability to create computer-generated prints, yarn dyes and embellishments for all categories. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task, is versatile, hard-working, organized, creative, and professional with previous successful experience in the textile apparel or toy development industries. They should be very well organized, detail conscious and a great team player.
Textile Design Responsibilities:
Design and develop repeat prints, patterns and embroideries for the collection
Scanning, color separation and re-coloring of existing artwork
Knowledge in a variety of Surface Pattern design layouts
Maintain specification changes and update designs throughout development process
Knowledge of computer color matching for accurate visual presentations
Some knowledge of the product development process helpful
Familiarity with home goods design, sewing techniques, pattern making or rapid prototyping processes, a plus.
Assist in research and implementing trends and materials processes in order to help identify current and future needs for design collections.
Create relative product specs/tech packs for factory adherence and for Licensor concept approval.
Promote continuous communications on product development status with Production, Sales and Management.
Provide input, collaboration, and assist in the creation of marketing materials for catalogs, project sheets and sales materials.
Track products from factory to photo shoots, schedule and participate with product preparation, creative setup and photo styling as needed.
Develop and present new marketing concepts and creative ideas.
Liaise with overseas factories from the creation of samples including alterations and critique/comment on factory revisions.
Must possess strong work ethic and high sense of urgency.
Qualifications
College degree in fashion/textile design or a related field preferred.
Experience in a fast paced multi-project, team environment
Demonstrate the ability to handle criticism and take on direction changes in a professional manner
Must be an expert in the Adobe Creative Suite -- Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, Excel, Word and Outlook.
Strong design skills in the textile industry while staying on top of trends, style and color
Strong conceptual skills, with the ability to hand sketch
Ability to respond quickly to all issues relating to product
Flexibility to change directions and priorities utilizing a positive and proactive approach.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain business relationships, as well as effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
