Role Responsibilities and Requirements:
Provide leadership, oversight and supervision to the Automation and Instrumentation Team
Provide Engineering Support and troubleshooting on a wide range of facilities, HVAC, and laboratory automation systems
Develop and manage annual maintenance budgets
Develop short and long term projects for the Automation and Instrumentation Programs
Establish and manage service levels with customers
Establish and manage service contracts with vendors
Understanding of: electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC.
Ability to oversee direct digital control systems/building automation systems (Andover, Siemens)
Ability to manage project engineering to determine the scope of work relative to the design intent of the customer needs.
Ability to read and interpret specifications and implementing those specifications as they apply to the work environment.
Oversight and development of calibration data sheets for temperature, level, flow, and pressure transmitters along with control valves, valve positioner, and various other types of instrumentation.
Understanding of logic diagrams, Programmable Logical Controller's (PLC)
Performing inspections, testing, and commissioning of facility/building automation and instrumentation systems
Work individually and as part of a team to support existing products, test and evaluate equipment
Provide technical assistance as needed to internal client customers
Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments or vendors.

Qualifications:
B.S. in Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or other related engineering degrees a plus and/or a minimum of 5 years as a BAS Engineer or Instrumentation Engineer or equivalent, or combination of education and experience.
Must have advanced technical skills and a solid working knowledge of the following direct digital control systems (Andover, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.)
Strong theoretical background in Control Theory and the design of controls systems
Organization and problem solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Building Automation Management/Instrumentation, and facility systems experience (BMS) (BAS)
Experience with cGxP compliance in the BioPharma industry
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of service level agreements and key performance indicators
