Position Summary: The Bookkeeper / Inventory Manager reports to the CFO. Manages all day-to-day bookkeeping and cash management activities of exciting technology-based food manufacturing and marketing company that has the backing of an industry-leading venture capital firm, a high profile board, and the potential to disrupt its target market. This position plays an essential role in enabling the efficient and scalable operation of an early-stage company with strong growth potential. This role will interact frequently with team members on the manufacturing, sales and executive teams. Target hire of May or June.
Key Skills
Strong understanding of bookkeeping concepts and practices in a manufacturing environment.
Strong competence with NetSuite, as well as with spreadsheet and word processing software.
Comfort with, or willingness to learn, a variety of tele-communications technologies (e.g., email, phone, chat, text, Skype) appropriate for a dispersed team environment.
Excellent quantitative analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written, including an ability to convey both details and big-picture implications.

Key Outcomes
Bookkeeping. Timely and accurate historical monthly information maintained in NetSuite, including but not limited to bank and credit card reconciliations, invoice and purchase order processing, inventory counts, and accruals for vacation and taxes.
Cash Management. Timely and accurate cash management, including but not limited to vendor payables, expense reimbursement, payroll, accounts receivables, and debt service.
Inventory Management. Timely and accurate recommendations for raw materials orders and, as needed, placing and following-up on those orders, based on:
Developing forward-looking forecasts with sales team
Understanding of the production process, including batch run times and capacities
Understanding of the customer order and shipping process and lead times
Understanding of the raw materials ordering lead times
Taxes. Work with third-party tax accountants, as needed, to ensure timely and accurate accruals for, and payments of, all relevant taxes, including but not limited to state and federal payroll, sales, and income taxes, and customs.
Financial Planning Analysis Support. Timely and accurate support for executive team, especially informing projections for overall financial performance, and in calculating and summarizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Other. Support on an ad hoc basis the various tasks typical of a lean, scrappy start-up environment.
