Staff Accountant

One of the most prominent sports industry companies in the world is seeking a staff accountant to join the company's accounting and finance department located in downtown Los Angeles. The position reports directly to the company's Chief Financial Officer and includes the following responsibilities:

- Financial statement, GL, trial balance preparation and reconciliation
- Review of other staff accountant work (e.g. cash reconciliations)
- Assistance with financial statement consolidations from subsidiaries
- Accounts payable and check processing
- Accounts receivable billing and collections
- Expense account tracking and reconciliation
- Data entry to accounting system
- Payroll processing
- Banking reconciliation
- Fixed asset reporting
- Preliminary research and due diligence on new business development projects, as capable

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting
- 2+ years of relevant work experience at a CPA firm or in a corporate accounting department of a large organization
- Strong knowledge of accrual basis accounting.
- High attention to detail
- Ability to function with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work late on occasion
- Experience with QuickBooks software necessary
- A hunger for learning
- Gets along well with others
- Sports industry experience not necessary
