Our client, a well-known alcoholic beverage brand, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their growing staff. The role is a great opportunity for a Senior Accountant with experience working with in the industry to leverage his or her skills into a great role with an excellent company. All candidates should have great written and oral communication skills and should thrive working in a fast pace environment.
Your Role:
--Administer Accounts Payable, process A/P bills (recording, coding, approving), prioritize payments and issue checks.
--Administer daily accounting for order processing. This includes verifying orders will be charged to the proper chart of accounts before creating an invoice and posting to the general ledger.
--Administer the processing of trade marketing bills (recording, coding, approving, posting) using our workflow system (Microsoft Sharepoint)
--Process and coordinate trade marketing and commission payments for Canada and Americas for international parent company.
--Assist parent company with the collections from customers in Canada and Americas.
--Record inventory receipts and transactions.
--Record and reconcile G/L accruals and other month end duties such as bank reconciliations.
--Administer the maintenance of the Accounting System (Microsoft Great Plains), including: chart of accounts (including Analytical Accounting lists), customer/vendor lists, price lists,
--Assist the Controller with preparation of reports and schedules needed for monthly reporting package.
--Assist with the annual audit.
Qualifications:
--3-5 years accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting experience.
--Experience assisting with month end close; recording journal entries, preparing bank reconciliations.
--Good working knowledge of general accounting, and reconciling general ledgers.
--Intermediate/Advanced level of Excel. Familiar with Pivot tables and v-lookups.
--Experience working with accounting systems; Microsoft Great Plains required.
--Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business
--Strong communication skills, particularly verbal.
--Beverage alcohol industry experience strongly preferred.
