We are a premier manufacturer of custom high-end hospitality furniture with facilities in Los Angeles and Shanghai. We are looking for a Project Manager or Junior Project Manager - depending upon experience - for our creative and pleasant Los Angeles office.
This posting describes both the duties of a Project Manger and a Junior Project Manager. We currently have one opening, and will hire according to the experience of our applicants.
SPECIFIC SKILLS ARE REQUIRED for this position. Please only apply if you have the following:
AutoCAD -- demonstrated experience with reading and using construction detail drawings. Furniture construction preferred.
Strong background in design aesthetics -- furniture background preferred.
Demonstrated skill in independently handling multiple tasks/projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES for Project Managers will include the following, and Junior Project managers will assist with these tasks:
-Oversight of projects from start to finish, juggling multiple tasks and working with diverse personalities, both inside the company and with our customers.
-Handle information flow between clients and the company, providing exceptional customer service.
-Submits drawings and finish samples to clients for approval. Discuss and communicate changes needed per the client or our production department. Redline and edit AutoCAD drawings as needed to facilitate approval.
-Work with clients to recommend and select specialty items such as hardware, stone, and the like, and documents client approvals.
-Responsible for maintenance of the project folder, both paper and networked, as applicable, to include all project-related documents and correspondence.
-Communicate deadlines to proper departments, and works to see that client deadlines are met.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST have the following skills, and Junior Project Managers will be expected to have more basic knowledge of the following, with strong potential to learn:
-Be highly organized with great follow through.
-Have exceptional people skills.
-Be well-versed in basic furniture design principles and construction techniques.
-Be able to juggle multiple tasks and work with diverse personalities.
-Be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
-Be able to identify and resolve problems proactively and diplomatically.
-Have a 4 year college degree in a related Design field.
-Have solid work experience in project management in a closely related field such as interior design, hospitality purchasing, interior architecture, etc.
-Have effective and articulate written, graphic and oral communication skills.
-Be computer savvy and be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as AutoCAD. Sketchup is a plus.
-Have a bright, positive attitude and a proactive, professional demeanor.
-Have a background in and passion for furniture and interior design.
-Fluency in Mandarin, Vietnamese, and/or Spanish are not required but can be helpful.
