About the Job
We are seeking a bright, professional, growth-minded Assistant Director of Business Development to help us maintain our leading position in our current niche and grow into new markets. Interested candidates with sales or marketing experience are certainly welcome, but this is also an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded recent grad eager to learn all aspects of a growing business and see his/her skill set expand rapidly. Responsibilities of the position include:
- Serve as initial point of contact for incoming inquiries, make a great first impression with potential new clients
- Qualify new prospects by gathering information, answering questions, building rapport, and presenting appropriate options or next steps based on level of interest and qualifications
- Facilitate sales by prioritizing opportunities and managing calendars of senior execs, booking strong prospects for live demos and individual appointments
- Keep the team organized, assist with weekly and monthly reporting, update tracking tools (salesforce.com experience would be helpful)
- Quickly acquire comprehensive knowledge of our product and marketplace, be able to process many variables and communicate sophisticated info effectively
- Collaborate with operations and marketing teams on special projects
- Help develop and maintain positive relationships with affiliates and referral sources
- Occasional travel to conferences and trade shows (less than 10% travel)
About You
Our ideal candidate is bright, energetic, driven, highly organized, loves to engage people, and has the right attitude and sense of humor to work in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment. Experience in sales and marketing is not required but would be a plus, particularly if experience includes inside sales of a SaaS (software as a service) model. We are also happy to invest in a candidate with indirect experience but the potential to be a great fit. An undergraduate degree is strongly preferred.
