OPERATIONS MANAGER / EXECUTIVE GALLERY ASSISTANT (BEVERLY HILLS, CA)

Timothy Yarger Fine Art seeks an experienced Operations Manager / Executive Gallery Assistant.

The Gallery:

With over 24 years in business, we offer an exciting and rewarding work environment. The Gallery specializes in Contemporary Art, with a long history of working with 19th Century Modernism, mounting up to 10 exhibitions a year in Asia and the U.S. and participating in major international art fairs.

The Position:

Part-time, Wed-Thurs. 10 am to 6 pm

Report directly to the Director/Owner and play a central role in the successful activities of the company. While this is primarily an administrative position, it will also involve sales support, marketing, designing, and other creative tasks. Responsible for maintaining timelines, planning events, inventory control, working with vendors, artists, and clients, basic gallery maintenance, opening and closing the gallery, working the phones, drafting essential correspondence, and taking initiative in the positive forward motion of the gallery in a wide range of capacities.

Requirements:

Optimism, flexibility, and positive energy
Excellent stress management skills
BA in fine art or related field
At least 3 years work experience in a gallery environment
Knowledge of and an interested in art, especially 20th Century Contemporary art
Comfort and skill working with the public and collectors
Comfort in a high-end sales environment
Working knowledge of marketing strategies for art
Strong writing skills
Excellent time/project management skills
Able to effectively multi-task with grace and patience
Computer fluency with Photoshop, MS Office Suite, databases, email programs and some basic HTML and website management experience
Ability to set up and maintain smooth, effective internal office/gallery operations
Attend/work gallery events outside of normal work hours

Preferences:

MA Degree in art or related field
Bi-lingual
HTML programming
High-end sales experience
