Expanding restaurant company seeks experienced and self-motivated Accounting Manager. This position is responsible for developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of accounting and finance related service, including financial reporting and accounts receivable. This position works under the Controller.

Key Duties Responsibilities:
Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts; defining accounting policies and procedures
Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special financial reports
Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls
Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating special reports
Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing accounting information and trends
Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries
Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed action
Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
Responsible for effectively researching, tracking and resolving accounting issues and discrepancies
Assists Controller on various accounting projects

Education, Qualification Working Conditions
Minimum of 5 years in Accounting experience required
At least 2 years of Quickbooks experience required
Proficient in Excel is required
Excellent skills in MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
B.A./B.S. in business/accounting preferred
Detail-oriented with great organization skills is a must
Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) preferred
Restaurant experience is a plus, but not required
Purchasing background a plus
