Corporate Controller/CFO
Mad Dogg Athletics, Inc. located in Venice, California, is the world's largest equipment-based education company and is home to the Spinning, Peak Pilates, Resist-A-Ball, Bodyblade, and SPIN Fitness brands. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Corporate Controller/CFO. We are looking for an ambitious individual who is CPA certified with strong leadership skills and the ability to meet established deadlines.
The Corporate Controller/CFO position is accountable for the day-to-day management of the accounting operations of our company. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, analysis and corrective action of variances, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
The Corporate Controller/CFO's core competencies and responsibilities will encompass Compliance, Management, Reporting, and Transactions.
Job Responsibilities
As the Controller/CFO your job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
Manage banking and cash management functions
Process payroll in a timely manner
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Ensure compliance is met and maintained by all members of the accounting staff
Maintain effective internal accounting controls
Maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Maintain books and records for several related entities, including required state and federal filings
Filing of various state sales tax filings, record keeping and payments
Lead the company's annual review process with an outside audit firm
Effectively manage, maintain many complicated royalty and other business relationship schedules in order to track and make timely payments and/or collections.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or business administration
10 or more years of progressive accounting experience and corporate financial responsibilities
Experience in a corporate environment or division within a large corporation
CPA Certification is PREFERRED
Experience with MAS 90/200 is REQUIRED
Payroll experience is REQUIRED
Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook and Word with an emphasis on Excel.
Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner both written and verbally.
Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a rapport with multiple levels of management and staff. Must have prior experience leading an accounting staff.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
